Sandra at Pixar Exibition

Today, I went to the Taipei Fine Arts Musem to see the Pixar Exibition. It has the making of the movies, drawing of the characters, even special features. It has the skech of the characters, all was funny, cool, and realistic. For example, Buzz Lightyear, there not going to make it the way it is right now. The only reason Buzz Lightyear is the way he is right now, is because the artists thinks the way Buzz Light Year looks better the way he is right now.
I saw athing called a Zoetrope. It has dolls of different kinds of actions in a row, and when it spins very fast, and the light flashes, the dolls in different actions will act like they're moving. That's my favorite exibit. And a small movie about the Pixar Table Lamp mother and child. The child bounces on a ball and the ball went flat, and the child brought a even bigger one, and scared mother. That one was funny, I liked that one, too! I saw a video that zoomed in and out left and right. Boy, that maked me and Winnie dizzy. So we both left that exibit before it was finished.
Boy, that was fun, better go before it ends at October!

Sandra in Keelong

On August 12th, we went to Kelung. Our first stop was at Dawulun Battery. When we first reached the Lover's Lake, I was already exausted by clibming the steep hill. Then we went hiking, I saw animals, like snails, spiders..., when Teacher Mike wanted to stop the awful whining of our class, Teacher Mike let us rest under a huge tree which leaves were like a huge umbrella, but not after long, we continued with our exausting hike, but then we found something better than a tree, a windy platform! Not only the weather was great, but the view was also great. We took some pictures then went down the mountain. It was much easier going down than up, not much longer I was happy to be on the ground again.

Our next stop was at the Fairy Cave(仙洞). It's a legend that a long time ago, a monk found out that a hole has a Buda living in it, and gives the monks rice everyday. But because of one monk's greed, he dug the hole bigger, rice never came out again. That hole is nowadays' Fairy Cave. It was wet, narrow, and dark. I got scrapes on my shoulders after we passed it, but I got some really cool shots, there were WORDS on the walls of the Fairy Cave. After we prayed to the Buda, we climbed up some stairs to the Fairy Cave Park(仙洞公園), there are some temples there, too! After that I bought an ice cream, but that's not important.

Our last stop was the Zhong Zhung Park(中正公園). I saw a huge bell, we wanted to strike it, but it costed 50$. Teacher Sophia afforded it, then all us girls stroke the bell, it was fun. The boys didn't get to strike it, but we didn't tell them, then Teacher Mike let us play the Bumper Cars twice. Then I bought a drink. Just then I found out the shop nextdoor was full of beautiful things, we took some pictures, just then the grumpy shopowner said"No picture taking, and no recording either." "Grumpy shopowner." I murmered. Now I wasn't fun and happy, I was angry. But not for long, after a while, I completely forgot about it.

Even if I did meet a grumpy shopowner, she couldn't break my happy feelings of the day in Keelung.

Kenny in Jiou Fen

Jiou Fen is outside Taipei. Many people like to go to Jiou Fen
because it is a fun place to visit. Yesterday we went there. It is so beautiful. I could see the sea and an island. I even saw the mountains. All from one place. Then we went to the old street full of shops. In one shop there were mugs which had the flags of different countries. They were cool. I liked them. Then we ment to a store with little musical instruments in different shapes. I took a picture with the little harp.

Sandra in Jiou Fen

Jiou Fen is a fun place in the mountains. It's in the north part of Taiwan. It's a place sort of like Danshui, old streets, lots of food shops.... I think people go there because you can get very many things there that you can't find in Taipei.
I saw funny things, like patato chips on a stick. And some really cool things , too! Like real money that was used a long time ago, I saw mugs that had pictures on them. I bought a little wooden thing that can make me safe . I like Jiou Fen becauase there are very many fun things there that I have never seen before.
When I was helping Teacher Mike pulling the baby cart, we were far behind, then we were lost, we serched for a long time, so I didn't get lunch, but in the end, of course we found each other, and I got something to eat, so my day was fun all the same.

Newton's Cradle

PLEASE GIVE ME SOME FLIES

Sandra's Wulai trip

On Wednesday, July 29th, 2009, we went to Wulai. We ate lunch in a nearby building. Just then I saw a huge labrador wagging his tail and walking towards me. "Oh no!" I thought. "Not this, just because I have 3 dogs at home every dog I see comes to me." then the dog jumped on me, making me fall. "Teacher, help!" I yelled from the top of my lungs. Teacher Mike pulled the dog off my body. "Oh my!" I sighed with relief.

Then we went to the Emerald Dam to throw rocks. Teacher Mike taught us a new trick called"Skipping Rocks". You need to find a flat, round rock, and try to get it spin while throwing, then it bounces from the surface of the water. I tried, but it didn't bounce, instead, with a SPLASH, it sank into the water. Teacher Mike's rock bounced all the way to the other side of the Emerald Dam. "So hard." I muttered.

Then we went to the Shopping Street. We saw small shops where cute little things were sold, but they were too expensive. We couldn't afford it, so we skipped those shops. Instead, we stopped at shops which sold food.

I saw something that caught my eye, a B.B. gun game! It cost $50, "Too expensive I thought, but I didn't care, I put the money on the table, took out a gun and started shooting. Teacher Mike joined me, I got 7 balloons, but teacher only got 4, we added our points, and won a water gun for 11 shots.

Wulai is such a fun city! I hope I could go there again, someday!

Connie Travels To Wulai

We took about one hour to get there. Do you know what we did at first?"You can start to eat you lunch right now!"said Teacher Sophia. I opened my eyes extremely wide."What?~~"said all of the people there. Because it felts like it was just ten 0' clock. But she's the teacher, I must listen to her. I slowy opened the outside wrapper of the veggie roll and I took a huge bite. Gosh! That smells terrible! That tastes terrible! That was terrible! But I was forced to eat it. I almost going to puke, and I secretly threw it into my bag. Please don't tell Teacher Sophia!

Teacher Mike took us to a place with a river near by. And then he taught us how to skip rocks."First , you need to collect some small and flat rocks."said Teacher Mike really loud,"And then do it like this......" Since the other people were playing with the rocks, I was standing there with Teacher Sophia. "I've found this big thing here, I want to get on this!" Said I and wishing Teacher Sophia could say out the word"YES"and not the word of"NO". "It's too dangerous! Don't go up there!" said Teacher Sophia just like sceaming. While she's talking to others I jumped up to the thing that was big and tall. Did you know what I saw? I saw some thin woods and some black and dirty coals! And the most exiciting thing was: I've brought some brand new coals home and nobody knew it!

After a while, Teacher Mike led us to a market street."Now i'll give you a few minutes for free time, i'll wait for you at the bridge of this street! Then Carol, Emmy and I went shopping on the market street together. Just when I marched out the first step they stoped. Carol bought a sausage. At last I bought one too!

I think the trip to Wulai was very fun!

Carol goes to Wulai

On Wednesday July 29, I went to Wulai with my class. We ate veggie rolls and guava for lunch. When we were ready to go, a dog jumped on Sandra and she fell down.We walk across the road and took some pictures.

Next we rode on a little train down to skip rocks. I tried and tried, but I couldn't do it. I think it was very difficult to do that. Then we went to a shopping street to buy things and take pictures. We played a lot too!

Last we went bact to the bus and had lots of fun. I was very confertable so I fell asleep on Emmy's leg. We were still playing when we got back to school.

Fisherman's Wharf

We went to many places, such as the Fisherman's Warf (漁人碼頭). It's beneath the Lover's Bridge(情人橋). The Fisherman's Warf (漁人碼頭) is like a dock, where the boats which sail on the Tanshui River (淡水河) stop. After our visit to the Fisherman's Warf (漁人碼頭) we crossed the Lover's Bridge. It's connected on the two sides on the banks of Tanshui River (淡水河), in case someone wants to cross it.

Tansui Lao Jie

We went to Lao Jie. It's close to the MRT station and it is easy to find the Lao Jie . There are many foods and games so it can let us take lots of fun and picture, but it's hot too. Teacher Sophia bought us a drink called Hyptis. There were four kinds. It was good to drink. Then we went to the station and waited for the school bus. Last we went back to Chuck School.

Tansui

Do you know Tansui? Tansui's a place with many beautiful and colorful flowers and green grass all over the ground. I love Tansui! I know then you guys want to know where we (blue team) went to, right? We went to the famous Fisherman's Wharf and Tansui old street! It was a lot fun! Let me show you how to get there: 1. You can walk there, but it might take a long~~ long~~ time to arrive! 2.You can also go there by MRT. From the Taipei main MRT station to Tansui will take about 36 minutes. 3. I suggest you go there by car. You can stay in the car driving and watch the wonderful scenery at the same time! It will take about one and a half hours from Dahu to Tansui. Let's let the blue team introduce you to some of the places of Tansui !
